Skid steer services handle the jobs at a house or farm that are too big for a wheelbarrow. Maybe a load of gravel sits in a heap, or a dirt pile landed in the wrong spot. A new garden spot is full of roots, or the lot is a mess after a build or storm. We bring a CAT 275 compact track loader for jobs like these and haul off whatever needs to go.
Watson Outdoor Living moved into excavation and skid steer work, and this loader handles the skid steer side. It runs on rubber tracks and carries a forestry mulcher head for brush and a root rake grapple for roots. We see every job in person before we price it, since ground and access decide how long it takes. Call or text (912) 712-6034 for a free estimate, or tell us what needs moving.
Tell us about your property and we will get right back to you.
The loader spreads a dumped load of gravel, fill or topsoil and pushes dirt piles out of the way. The root rake grapple combs roots, rocks and buried wood out of a garden spot or a pasture corner. The forestry mulcher head grinds a single fence row or trail edge down to chips that stay on the ground. The loader can also shape a small shed pad or clean up a lot after a build.
Bigger jobs get their own plan, like building a new gravel driveway from the road to the house. A new home, or a low lot that needs truckloads of fill, calls for house pads and site prep. When the whole lot sits uneven or holds water after rain, the fix is yard leveling and grading. A long property line grown shut with brush and vines is fence line and underbrush clearing.
Most yards around Statesboro are sandy loam or loamy sand with clay underneath, and low spots hold water after rain. Tires can dig in and spin on that ground, while rubber tracks spread the weight over much more of it. Caterpillar lists the 275's operating weight at 12,401 lb and its ground pressure at 5.0 psi on 15.7 inch tracks. Ground pressure is how hard a machine presses on each square inch, and lower means less sinking into soft dirt.
Caterpillar lists a rated operating capacity of 4,156 lb, the load the 275 is rated to lift and carry. It is still compact, so it can work close to a house or a row of trees. Even on tracks, soaked ground can rut, so we plan each job around wet weather and low spots. When a yard is holding water, we wait for it to dry and firm up before the loader goes in.
Every skid steer job starts with a look at the ground, the way in and where each pile should go. You get a free estimate after that visit, with the loader work and the haul off spelled out. Georgia 811 must be contacted before digging, so that call goes in before the loader breaks ground. Several small jobs on one property can share one visit, so list them all when you call.
Contractors may not dump at Bulloch County's convenience centers, which take household waste from county residents only. So the roots, scrap and brush we load go on our dump trailer to a disposal site open to contractors. Burning a pile of land clearing or storm debris means contacting the Georgia Forestry Commission first, at 1-800-GA-TREES. A yard covered in fallen pines is a bigger job, handled as downed trees and storm debris work.
Our skid steer travels from Statesboro to homes, farms and lots within about 50 miles. That takes in Brooklet, Metter, Pembroke, Swainsboro and Vidalia, plus Springfield, Rincon, Pooler and Savannah out toward the coast. We have mulched two backyards in Springfield with the loader, and bigger wooded ground gets a full forestry mulching job. Most skid steer jobs we take run a half day to a day or two on site.
HomeGuide says companies that bring their own skid steer loader to the job charge $100 to $300 per hour. It adds that most of them set a minimum of one day or eight hours. Those are HomeGuide's published figures, and our own number comes after we look at your job in person. Access, soft ground, the size of each pile and how far the debris has to travel all move that number.

(912) 712-6034From the first look at the property to the last pass of the grapple, here is exactly how it goes.
We come see the property first: the growth, the ground under it, access for the machines, and what you want the land to become. Clearing prices live in details a phone call cannot see.
You get a real number and a real timeline, and what it covers is spelled out: clearing, stumps, grading, debris. It holds unless the scope changes, and you hear about any change before it costs anything.
The CAT 275 and 308 show up when we said they would. Brush gets mulched or piled, trees and stumps come out, dirt gets shaped, and debris leaves on the trailer.
We go over the finished ground with you before we leave. Smooth dirt you can mow, grade or build on, and a property that looks better than the day we pulled in.

Watson exceeded our expectations with his attention to detail and his ability to meet our timeline. I will recommend them to anyone!
Truly one of the best young men I’ve worked with. Him and his team exceeded my expectations. I’ve had them come for landscaping and debris removal, and each time I’m pleased. I recommended him to a few co-workers of mine and they consistently thought the pricing was reasonable.
Excellent, professional work!
